I am a Research Fellow at the Niehaus Center for Globalization and Governance. I study the international political economy of trade and global value chains (GVCs) with a particular focus on firms and development. More specifically, my work integrates the study of trade institutions and policy into the study of global production and GVCs. In addition, I am also interested in micro analysis of supply chains and the relation between FDI and climate change.

I received my PhD in Political Science from the Department of Political Science, McGill University. My PhD thesis, Trading up for Development: the effect of deep trade liberalization on global value chains (GVCs), empirically examines the effect of trade agreements on countries' (and their firms') integration with GVC trade. This work was supported directly by the SSHRC Joseph Armand Bombardier Canada Graduate Doctoral Scholarship and also McGill University. I am the winner of the 2022 UNCTAD & the Academy of International Business Award for Best Research on Investment and Development for my work on Deep PTAs and trade in GVCs.
